The Fantasy Man's 2012 Fantasy Baseball Second Base 2B Rankings

The Fantasy Man's 2012 Fantasy Baseball Second Base 2B Rankings

1. Robinson Cano - No brainer top 5 overall
2. Ian Kinsler - 30/30 again in mid prime
3. Dustin Pedroia - 20/20/.300+ super solid pick
4. Chase Utley - Has #1 2B fantasy talent so this could be a nice value
5. Ben Zobrist - He's a bit inconsistent week by week but numbers are there at the end
6. Brandon Phillips - the rare 5 category 2B
7. Dan Uggla - Big power, stinky BA
8. Howie Kendrick - Position eligibility, entering prime, possible breakout, just needs to stay healthy
9. Dustin Ackley - the next Chase Utley, just needs a supporting cast
10. Danny Espinoza - 20/20 potential but super inconsistent in 2011
11. Rickie Weeks - Had his best year yet the final numbers weren't too exciting
12. Neil Walker - Power/speed a bit disappointing in '11 but a full season and a half under belt
13. Brian Roberts - Assuming healthy, should get you at least .280/10-15HR/85+R/25+ SB
14. Jemille Weeks - Could be boom or bust, BA should dip a bit but speed is real
15. Jason Kipnis - small sample shows power/speed, I can't go crazy here
16. David Murphy - Could be top 10 2B by end of 2012 if healthy
17. Gordon Beckham - We've seen talent, now we just need him to put it together, new coach should help
18. Kelly Johnson - Nice power, few SB's, the rest blows
19. Aaron Hill - Lost power, added 20+ SB in 2011, the rest blows
20. Darwin Barney - Nice serviceable player
21. Jose Altuve - Good contact hitter, 15+ SB speed, 5-10 HR
22. Johnny Giavotella - Like Altuve with slightly less speed
23. Freddie Sanchez - Serviceable
24. Orlando Hudson - Serviceable

I don't even know where to go from here.  Best bet is to make sure you have one of the top 17 in my opinion.  This might be the weakest position in 2012 other than catcher....

I think you mean Daniel Murphy...not David Murphy
